I run my own writing, editing, translation, and design business that focuses on helping Japanese companies expand their reach abroad. I have done work for the Japan National Tourism Association, KISEN, and Tanmokuzara, among others.

For the year 2020 - 2021, I worked full-time with Kawashima Tategu Co. Ltd. at their design offices in the Toyama Design Center to support their international expansion. Since returning to the US last year, I work with them on a freelance basis and represented them at the NY NOW trade show at the Javits Center in August 2021.

Studying Kumiko designs.

I spent time at the factory to learn about the process of making Kumiko, the materials, and the type of designs that are possible.

I created mockups in Illustrator to help clients visualize prospective architectural work. See three examples below.

In the past, I have done contract work with Agnes Scott College and Baylor School. This includes research, marketing and communications tasks, website management, and video projects.

I assisted with a GoogleAds campaign for Baylor School, conceptualising, building and executing a 15s ad for their Camp Walkabout program.

I also compiled and edited year-end video for the Headmaster’s message, collaborating with the communications team to develop and refine the concept and deliver on a tight deadline.

I worked on the Baylor online Magazine (baylormagazine.org), converting it from its old technology base (Dreamweaver .aspx file format) to the new Content Management System database (Finalsite CMS) while ensuring consistency of design and organisation throughout. 

My tech competences include website building platforms WordPress, Wix, and Squarespace, and experience designing in Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I am also familiar with Finalsite CMS and Finalsite Online Publications Module. I have edited video with PremierPro and FinalCut Pro. I am experienced in Office Suite and G Suite. I am also familiar with social media, particularly Instagram and Facebook, and scheduling tools like Hootsuite.
